ST IVES TOWN 1
ILLOGAN 0
ILLOGAN returned from the Saltings goalless and pointless from their Jolly's Combination League game at St Ives Town.
They went down to a gift second half goal, but had enough opportunities to have salvaged a point.
On a poor surface both sides found it difficult to get the ball down and play some football, but Gareth Pitt saw an early effort go wide following a 25-yard shot.
Two minutes later Mike Pascoe shot over the bar, but Jason Roberts rescued Illogan a minute later when he cleared Simon Carter's shot off the line after Carter had gone round goalkeeper Danny Burrows.
Town survived three successive efforts from Simon Ellis, Craig Williams and Pitt as Illogan gradually took control of the half.
The second half was more of the same from Illogan as they threatened but failed to deliver and with 20 minutes to go Burrows came out to clear a long ball by Chris Russell, but missed the ball to give Darren Steadman the simplest of chances to score.
Illogan: D Burrows, M Sabo, J Roberts, A Clark, M Pascoe, S Ellis, J Kemp, R Bray, G Sturmey, G Pitt, C Williams. Subs: J Martin, M Miller, L Williams.
