People visiting licensed premises in Helston and Porthleven are being reminded of the dangers of having their drink spiked in an ongoing campaign launched by local police officers.
Posters are being put up and leaflets handed out in a bid to remind pub and club-goers not to leave their drinks unattended in case they are tampered with.
Police community support officer Beth Pascoe, from Helston police station, said the campaign was a timely reminder to members of the public, particularly as the smoking ban, which came into force on July 1, meant people tended to leave their drinks behind when they went outside for a cigarette.
She said: "There isn't a problem with drink spiking in Helston, but we are conducting this campaign to raise awareness to members of the public.
"The main things people should be aware of are don't share or exchange drinks, don't leave your drink unattended, don't accept drinks from people you don't know, and if your drink has been topped up, moved or tastes funny, don't trust it!"
