HELSTON travelled to Trispen to play their first competitive match of the season. The rain showers throughout the match did not deter the youngsters whose hard work and excellent team work paid off with a fine win.
Grasshoppers snatched the first goal ten minutes into the first half. However, this was quickly followed up by an equalising goal made possible by Alex Cook and a sharp pass from Thomas Orchard.
A handball offence earned Helston a penalty which Orchard put away to put the visitors in front.
Helston continued to enjoy the majority of possession which saw some excellent passes and defending, but despite several attempts at goal were unable to extend their lead.
Helston maintained possession in the second half with Matthew Walker going close with a couple of superb shots.
Five minutes into the second half Cook set up Orchard to score a third goal for Helston.
Helston's defence worked hard to keep the ball in the Grasshoppers half and Ben Mudge had a shot, which was well saved by the Grasshoppers goalkeeper.
Luke Skewes handled well in the Grasshoppers goal, but before the final whistle Orchard snapped up a fourth goal with a long-range shot.
