Shoppers were tickled pink when they arrived at Penryn Asda to find a pink stretch Chrysler parked outside and staff wearing feather boas.
Julia Goldsworthy, current MP for Falmouth and Camborne, was there to lend a hand at the Tickled Pink charity day in aid of two breast cancer charities. She was joined by Terrye Teverson, parliamentary candidate for the future Truro and Falmouth ward, for the event in aid of Breast Cancer Care and the Breast Cancer Campaign.
Ms Goldsworthy said: "It's a fantastic campaign. I think Breast Cancer Care does brilliant work in raising awareness of breast cancer, so making sure everybody does their bit while having fun in the process."
Over the course of the day there was a pink-themed tombola - run by member of staff Jean Emmins, who had personal experience of breast cancer and was in remission from the disease - and a raffle. Prizes included a meal for two at the Green Lawns Hotel, with transport to the meal in the pink stretch Chrysler by Penryn-based TRJ Limos.
Youngsters in Asda's crèche, Dweezils, had even got into the spirit of the occasion and held a colouring competition, which was judged by Ms Goldsworthy.
Alison Quick, corporate marketing manager at Asda Penryn, said the store had been supporting the campaign for 11 years and had raised £16 million nationally since 1997.
Ms Quick said: "It's a community thing, with Asda in the community. It's very surprising, you could be in the supermarket here and walk around all the customers and you can guarantee that one, if not more, has been effected by breast cancer."
In addition to the in-store fundraising, staff were also taken around Falmouth in the pink Chrysler to make a collection.
