Falmouth Town u14s 0
Culdrose Tornadoes u14s 6
In just their second league match of the season, the Culdrose under 14 youth side brushed aside their opponents Falmouth Town at the Falmouth school pitch. Yet another great performance came from the away side who welcomed back three of their players from pre-season injuries.
It was great to see that their top goal scorer of last season Gorran "Gozzie" Lyne put himself amongst the pickings in this one sided game. Four goals came in the first half with a further two goals added in the second period, although as with their last game, many goal scoring opportunities where wasted by the Culdrose forwards. The defence remained resolute throughout, limiting the home side to very few chances in either half.
The large squad was rotated to great effect by Culdrose coach Cy Prynn in both halves of the match, making it very difficult to pick out any one key player, however, after careful consideration the coach and manager decided to award the coveted "man of the match" award to newcomer Chris Aldred.
Chris, who in his first league match for the Tornadoes, battled hard in his central midfield role along side the vastly experienced Tom Olliff and he was also on hand to bag a brace of goals for the club.
The goalscorer's were Harry Preston (2), Chris Aldred (2), Steve lambert (1) and Gorran Lyne (1).
The Tornadoes play their next match against Alverton Rebels at home on Sunday,October 7.
