MIKE Jacka won the Ninnis Scratch Cup at Praa Sands Golf Club on Sunday morning with 76, writes Simon Edwards.
John Murrish was second with 77, William Giddings third with 78, Francis Vickerstaffe fourth with 79 and Nigel Waters fifth with 80 on the last nine holes from Alun Dixon. The first 16 players (on handicap) go forward to the Laurie Fogg Knockout.
Caroline Hardman, Judy Harris and Roland Hardman won the Ladies' Invitation Texas Scramble Trophy on Saturday with 63.4 nett. Anna Harry, Ann Seabrook and Tony Hosking were second with 64.9 and Diana Kelynack, Chris Tonkin and Charlie May third with 67.6.
Barry Lee won the weekly Stableford with 34 points while Tony Boyce took second place with 32 points on the last nine from Simon Phillips.
Caz Hardman won the Ladies' Wednesday nine-hole Stableford with a superb 22 points. Connie May took second place on countback from Anna Harry with both ladies returning 17 points. Connie also won the putting competition.
The coming weekend sees the RNLI open charity events taking place. The Ladies' play for the Mabel Alice Rose Bowl on Saturday afternoon and the men play for the Alliance Salver on Sunday morning. Telephone 01736 763445 to enter the event.
Next week, there is a mid-weekly Stableford and the Bunker Cup (two club competition - a putter and one other) is on Friday. The ladies play a nine-hole Stableford on Wednesday morning and the Ogres meet on Wednesday afternoon.
