A special conference to share and celebrate the exciting and innovative work of the Camborne, Pool and Redruth Success Zone is being staged at The Berlewen Building next Tuesday.
The 'Learning in Action' conference will look at the success of the CPR Success Zone in developing innovative and creative approaches to improving learning and teaching.
Partnership working is one of the Zone's key strengths, with staff co-delivering projects with a wide range of organisations, including Youth Services, Connexions, Family Services, Cornwall College, Children's Social Care, the Police and Community Neighbourhoods 4 Change (CN4C) as well as local communities.
Guest speakers will include Dean Ashton, Cornwall's director of services for children, young people and families, who will highlight the improvement in all areas of the curriculum among schools within the zone and Linda Siegle from the Campaign for Learning.
Linda, who has worked with staff from the zone on improving the quality of learning interactions with students both with zone schools and other schools in Cornwall, will give the key note address titled - Learning for the 21st Century.
Delegates will also take part in a number of workshops featuring activities delivered by schools. These include Peer Mentoring (Camborne Science and Community College): MYST - a writing project showing some exciting improvement for children in Rosemellin school, Nurture group work (Pennoweth school), some Aim Higher families work (Pool School) and most interesting Learning Mentor healthy eating project (Pencoys) school.
