Cornwall Wildlife Trust is inviting people to discover more about its work and how it is helping the county's wildlife to adapt to the challenges of climate change by attending a Discovery Day on Saturday November 10.
There will be a full programme of activities for children as well as varied and interesting talks for adults. The day will start with a short Annual General Meeting for Cornwall Wildlife Trust at 10am till 10.30am which members can attend and then the day continues with talks and activities open to everyone from 10.45am.
The programme of talks includes Tim German of the Cornwall Sustainable Partnership talking on climate change and the effects on Cornwall, Steve Clark of Natural England talking on large scale conservation projects in Cornwall, and Cheryl Marriott from Cornwall Wildlife Trust dispelling some of the myths surrounding gardening for wildlife.
The afternoon sees special guest Andrew Cooper, BBC broadcaster, wildlife film-maker, presenter and writer talking about his experiences filming wildlife.
Marie Preece of Cornwall Wildlife Trust said: "This will be an excellent opportunity to see exactly how the Trust is working with other partners to help our wildlife adapt to the changes that we are all experiencing in our climate, as well as having a chance to ask experts all those burning questions."
The booking fee for the whole day is just £5 for adults and £1 for children. Lunch is available at an additional cost of £5.50 and must be booked in advance.
