An amended proposal for illuminated signs at the new Lidl store in Helston goes before members of the town council's planning committee at a meeting tonight.
Some local residents objected to the company's original proposal, saying the lights were too big and would be visually intrusive.
As a result, the planning committee agreed to recommend that the signs should be reduced in height, and should only remain illuminated one hour either side of the store's opening times.
Lidl has agreed to reduce the size of the signs and their amended planning application is due to go before the committee tomorrow night.
Town councillor Keith Reynolds said he would be recommending the committee support the application. He added that Lidl had done everything the town council had asked it to, with regard to this and previous applications, and deserved the council's support.
Work continues apace on the new store, which it is hoped will be open in time for Christmas.
The development is expected to create around 30 jobs.
