Cornwall College, sponsors of the Cornish Pirates, were also the matchball sponsors at a home match against the Pertemps Bees.
The ball, which was signed by all the players, was the prize in a free prize draw competition run by the college at the match.
The winner was 15-year-old James Barker from Newquay. James, a Newquay Tretherras pupil, was presented with the signed ball by head of Cornwall College, Raoul Humphreys and Cornish Pirates captain, Tim Cowley.
James, a huge Pirates fan and rugby player for Newquay Hornets, said: "I'm really happy, it's a great prize and to meet Tim Cowley, the team captain, was brill."
Cornwall College principal John Latham said: "Cornwall College is proud to be furthering its support of the Pirates by sponsoring the team and the matchball', and we wish them the best of luck this season."
Along with running the competition, the college helped spectators get into the spirit of the match by providing "TRY" signs, which the crowds got to raise 6 times during the victorious match, which saw the Pirates beat the Pertemps Bees 43 - 20.
