IT'S a double header for this year's Saracen Award the highest accolade a citizen of Penryn can be awarded for service to the community.
Former town mayors John Ashwin and Len Brokenshire have both been selected to receive their awards following their retirement from the town council last May.
Their work over the years is well known, not only as town, district and county councillors but with many charities, including Age Concern and Samaritans, various local trusts, school governerships.
They were also heavily involved with events such as the annual Penryn Town Fair day, Christmas lights and one-off occasions, such as the town charter celebrations.
The Saracen's Award have been running since 1980 but only three awards have been made in the last ten years.
Current mayor Mary May said: "John and Len have been part of the life of this town for longer than most of us can remember.
"They have contributed in so many ways, and the Saracen Award is an opportunity for the community to say thank you.
"The town council would not normally make the award to former councillors, and serving councillors are not eligible.
"But with John and Len, they have done so much for the town over the years, it's right that their contribution should be recognised."
A date and venue for the presentation has yet to be decided.
