A PLAYFUL Dolphin delighted passengers on board the Falmouth to Truro Ferry, Enterprise II, last Wednesday afternoon as it cruised in front of the bow and leapt out of the water.
Skipper Simon Hirst caught these remarkable images on his camera as the adult dolphin, which had been in the docks for a couple of days, performed for the 25 passengers on the boat.
The Dolphin was hanging around in the harbour and off Pendennis Point when Mr Hirst took these pictures and a short video.
"I've been working on boats nearly all my life," said Mr Hirst "and I've never seen anything like this before. It stayed for half an hour so we were a bit late arriving in Truro but the passengers didn't mind.
"It's been hanging around for a week and it was very playful. It jumped straight out of the water. He was just on the bow pushing himself along. Normally they play in the bow wash but he wanted to push himself along on the bow of the boat."
