A TRURO City player has suffered a serious injury after allegedly being assaulted by a member of an opposing team.
Police were called to Truro City Football Club in Tregolls Road at 5.45pm on Saturday after receiving a report that a Bristol Manor Farm player had assaulted the Truro City player in the clubhouse after that afternoon's match.
Upon attendance police arrested a 20-year-old Bristol man on suspicion of assault.
The Truro City player was taken to RCH Treliske where it was confirmed that he had sustained a fractured left eye socket. Police interviewed several witnesses.
The arrested male has been bailed to Newquay Police Station on November 26.
