Seventeen-year-old Penryn winger Charlie Levick will represent Cornwall under-20s for their County Championship pool game at Hampshire this Sunday.
Levick, scored his first senior try on his first-team debut in their 74-3 win at home to Hayle last week, will start on the wing for the Duchy side as they look to
Redruth trio Jack Hodge, Connor Gilbert and Aaron Simmonds all start, as do Truro's Owen Davey and Aden Brassington of St Ives.
Falmouth's Alistair Harding is named among the replacements.
Cornwall Rugby Football Union's (CRFU) under-20 County Championship campaign moves to the second pool game in the Jason Leonard Cup on Sunday. Cornwall will play Hampshire at a new venue of Havant RFC on the 3G pitch with a 1.30pm kick-off time on Sunday, February 24.
CRFU President Peter James said: “This is the first away game for the squad this season and follows on from their win against Devon in the opening round of the competition. Hampshire always provides strong opposition and I am sure this match will be no different.”
The game kicks off at 1.30pm at Havant RFC after concerns from the hosts about the original venue of Overton RFC. Hampshire’s first pool game was delayed a week due to the weather.
Coach Rich Kevern said: "The guys got off to a winning start against Devon, but this will be a different test, away from home and playing on an artificial surface. We have kept a pretty settled side with only a couple of changes, due to unavailability of players and, tactically. Harry Lightfoot starts at six and our captain Torin Clarke is back fit and fills the number eight shirt. Another starter from last year, James Tucker comes onto the bench, along with Cain Worley and Luke Barnes, who are covering the front row and youngster Charlie Levick gets a start on the wing."
Cornwall Captain Torin Clarke said: “It is great to be back in the shirt and I am honoured to be captaining the side again after the first game. We had a hard fought victory against Devon that went down to the wire. I was immensely proud of the guys who stuck to the game plan right up to the final minute, which saw us come through with a victory.”
The final pool game will again be hosted by St Austell RFC on Sunday, March 17, where the opponents will be Gloucestershire.
The Cornwall under-20 team manager Colin Hatch said: "At the last home game, 13 new ties were presented to guys on playing their first match for the Cornwall under-20. In addition, Reuben Edwards, Dan Goldsmith, Jake Penprase, Connor Gilbert and Harry Lightfoot were awarded the first ever CRFU under-20 caps for making seven Championship appearances. This is a fantastic achievement for the guys and shows their commitment to the under-20 team over two and, in Reuben’s case, three seasons.”
