Residents in villages between Falmouth and Truro have been urged to "blow the whistle" on speeding motorists and those driving over the limit.
Feock parishioners had complained at excessive speeding through villages in the parish such as Devoran, Carnon Downs, Point and Penpol.
Now, police sergeant Chris Manuell has told parish councillors that although police speed traps could be set up they only slowed down traffic while they were operational.
He has advised members of the public to note down registration numbers of cars they consider are being driven too fast and pass them on to the police so that owners could be checked out and warnings given.
