A POPULAR Falmouth bar that closed suddenly a fortnight ago looks like it will reopen shortly.
The Brig in Arwenack Street announced it was closing in both Falmouth and Truro via a Facebook post at the end of March.
Now, it has said it is reopening in Falmouth.
A further post on Thursday night said that the bar was looking for a new bar manager.
On Monday, it had posted to say 'you can't keep a good pirate down'.
The Packet has not yet been able to speak directly to those in charge of The Brig, but further comments on the post on Thursday night confirmed the plans.
Regarding the search for a new bar manager, one user commented: "We thought you shut."
Under its account, The Brig replied: "We did. We are now under new management, with an original owner still on board."
Following this, they said: "We have managed to secure a new company to help us reopen, but we were devastated when it had to close.
"As individuals, we lost everything, but are putting all we can back into getting the bar reopen.
"We are not a corporate business out to scam money wherever possible, we are owned by one family who have put their blood, sweat and tears into keeping this alive.
"The closing weekend wasn't a reflection of our usual service, but we were unsure of the future at that point and genuinely believed it was our final day."
There is no word yet as to whether the Truro branch will be reopened.
