Tributes have been coming in from around the world for Jane Kereama, a leading light in Porthleven's food industry who has been described by chef husband Jude as his "best friend" following her death aged just 46.
Friends and family in both the UK and New Zealand are in mourning after she lost her battle against advanced cancer last week.
Jane and Jude have won national awards for their restaurants Kota and Kota Kai, yet at home nothing made her prouder than her role as wife to Jude and mother to 12-year-old Joe.
Jude said: "She stayed strong the whole time and had such a brave face; she never gave up. She said, 'I just want to get strong so I can be a good wife and mother - she always put us before her.
"She was always so giving and it's very unjust.
"She was just an incredibly fun ball of energy. She was kind and never had a bad word to say to anybody; we were just best friends."
Jude and Jane had just celebrated 18 years of marriage, having been a couple for 23 years.

"I said to her on our anniversary, 'By rights we should be celebrating 36 years because we spend every waking moment together and we hate spending time apart.'
"We were so lucky to have such an amazing, loving relationship and be best mates as well," added Jude.
He described her as a wonderful mother to their Joe and said: "We're absolutely devastated. She was just the lovely, bubbly person that people saw - there was no facade. She was like that all the time.
"She is a huge loss to the community."
The family is planning a private funeral and cremation, before organising a large community memorial event in her honour at a later date, which is likely to take place on the lawn at Kota Kai and will be open to anybody wanting to celebrate Jane's life.
"That's what she would want - a big, big party and people telling stories of this amazing woman," said Jude. "This village has been so kind already and has shown so much support to Joe and I.
"I can't think of a better place to be in at a sad time like this, and having the support of the village. It fills me with hope that we will get through this together.
"Jane was so proud of being here and so loved the community of Porthleven."
Jane loved nothing more than being with her family
Jude and Jane moved to Porthleven 15 years ago, originally renting and running The Smokehouse for two years before buying Kota, turning it into an award-winning fine dining restaurant, while its sister restaurant Kota Kai is now in its eighth year.
They were founding members of Porthleven Food Festival, with Jude wanting to hold a food festival and his friend Dai Lawton a music festival, so they combined the two.
Among the many tributes from those who knew and loved Jane has been from the food festival team, who said: "[We] are devastated to hear the news about our lovely Jane, who organised the Chefs’ Theatre at the festival every year from the beginning 11 years ago and gave so much time as a volunteer, and support as a local business.
"Porthleven and the festival absolutely will not be the same without Jane’s sparkly personality and can-do attitude. RIP Jane. You will be greatly missed."
