Bracknell 30, Camborne 10
Camborne put up stout resistance on the long trip to Bracknell with the home side only closing out a welcome victory in the closing stages.
The Cherry & Whites started brightly taking the lead early on with prop Jon Drew’s try converted by Rhys Brownfield.
A 15th minute penalty opened the home side’s account and an unconverted try soon after had them in front at 8-7.
Although a converted try stretched the Bracknell advantage, as the interval neared fly half Brownfield booted a penalty to cut the deficit to 15-10 at the break.
Early in the second half a home penalty increased the lead to eight points but thereafter chances came and went for both teams in a very even contest.
Inside the last ten minutes the hosts made the game safe with a bizarre try before a converted score with the final play of the game broke the spirited visitors’ resistance.
