Two holiday parks on the Lizard Peninsula are to be given a £3.5 million makeover this year.

Parkdean Resorts said it would be installing new lodges and upgrading existing caravans at its Mullion park and at Sea Acres at nearby Kennack Sands, as part of part of an £80million investment in its business nationwide.

This includes seven new two and three-bedroom seaview lodges at Sea Acres and 17 replacement caravans.

At Mullion, 22 new caravans will replace old fleet.

A spokesperson for the company said: "The investment in these two parks is part of the company’s largest ever annual investment in its estate, to deliver holiday parks that provide inter-generational family fun and freedom for its holiday homeowners and holiday guests."

He said it was part of a pilot initiative to create "parks of the future" that not only included accommodation and park facilities but also kids’ activity entertainment such as the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

The company is also investing more than £13million to provide free high-speed Wi-Fi in every caravan and lodge across all 67 of its parks in Britain.

The two parks employ 129 staff in season and Parkdean is currently hiring for a number of seasonal roles across sales, food and beverage, and housekeeping.
