Helston Flora Day has been cancelled this year due to coronavirus.
The Helston Flora Day Stewards said the decision had not been taken lightly, as a great deal of time and planning has gone into the event, but they felt strongly that the health, safety, and wellbeing of all the dancers, Hal an Tow, Helston Town Band, and the general public must be the top priority.
Stewards chairman John Eddy said: "The government has stated that the coronavirus outbreak has not yet peaked and has taken the steps to discourage large-scale events and avoid all non-essential contact".
Hon Secretary Nick Wills said: “It is with the government guidance that we take this decision with a heavy heart, all those invited to take part this year will have their invitations honored in 2021”.
