A clinical health psychologist currently under curfew in Sri Lanka is offering free online yoga sessions.
Alicia Ray, works for Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and is also a yoga teacher and wellbeing practitioner.
She said: "I am currently in Sri Lanka on holiday under curfew until we fly back to the UK on March 27). As we are going through difficult times due to COVID-19 with an increasing demand placed on our hospital in Cornwall, I want to help my colleagues in RCHT and I'm offering free online yoga, fitness and mindfulness sessions to support the wellbeing of hospital staff, as I understand the benefit of practising yoga, self-care and regular exercise for managing stressful situations."
Alicia, who hosts beach yoga at Gwithian when she is home, is offering these classes for free to NHS staff and also free to anyone who wants to join to support people's health and well-being during self isolation.
She added: "I ask that anyone else who would like to take part, (and is able to) makes a donation towards the RCHT charity fund to support our hospital in whatever way is needed. People can donate via the link in my bio at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/alicia-ray-wellbeing
"I will be offering regular live stream classes via Zoom as well as recording and saving classes so that they can be accessed at any time. People can email me directly with any questions at hello@aliciaray.uk "
Regular class schedule updates will appear on her facebook page Alicia Ray Wellbeing.
She will be live streaming a 60 minute yoga class from Sri Lanka today and tomorrow at 11am UK time. She has has raised £110 already and I would like this to get to £1000 to support the hospital.
Alicia began teaching beach yoga on Gwithian beach in May 2018 and has done so twice weekly (Saturday morning and Wednesday evening) ever since.
