EMERGENCY services were called to Helston town centre on Thursday evening to help a man who was threatening to harm himself.
Devon and Cornwall Police said it was called, along with the ambulance service, to Coinagehall Street at 6.45pm.
A spokesperson for the police said: "The man, in his 30s, was physically unwell and was threatening to harm himself.
"He was detained under the Mental Health Act but first taken to Treliske Hospital for treatment."
