Staff at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals are inviting health and care colleagues and members of the public across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to join them this Thursday to pause and reflect on the impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on us all.
Through this virtual event the staff want to reaffirm our commitment to stand with one another as we head into an uncertain few months.
On the Royal Cornwall, St Michael’s and West Cornwall hospital sites trees will be planted and sculptures and benches will be unveiled to mark areas for everyone to use for quiet reflection, now, and in the coming months and years. Glass plates have also been crafted by a local artist on the Isles of Scilly, and will be placed in the hospital reception areas.
Ahead of the Thursday's virtual event, yellow seed hearts are being distributed which people joining can display at 11 am during the broadcast as a symbol of togetherness, before taking them home to plant in their garden or a special place.

You'll be able to do this via Microsoft Teams, either by webcam or by the camera on your phone or mobile device, but please remember to remain socially distanced.
The staff hope that colleagues from all sectors of health and care, including community hospitals, GPs and care homes will come together for this short time and that members of the public will join in too to reflect on the effect the pandemic has had across our communities.
Those wanting to show their hearts can join the broadcast on MicrosoftTeams via http://bit.ly/PauseReflectShowYourHeart.
The live stream of the event will be available for everyone to join on Thursday, October 22 at 10:50 am on You Tube at the following link: https://youtu.be/4SVCw56hTw4.
