A GROUP of students at Penryn College are in isolation this week after one tested positive for coronavirus. Families of affected teenagers were informed by a staff member on Saturday via a phone call.
Cornwall Council confirmed that there had been a single confirmed case involving a student in year nine.
A spokesperson said that, as a result, 44 students are now self-isolating at home, but no staff members have been affected.
"Our [public health] team will be speaking with the school later to go through any further details or help they may need," he added.

It follows a case involving nearby Penryn Primary Academy last month, in which pupils in year four were asked to isolate at home after one child tested positive for the virus.
The government's most recent 'cluster map', showing cases broken down into areas, indicated that there were four cases of coronavirus recorded in Penryn.
The map was updated at 4pm yesterday (Sunday) but only shows new cases for the seven days leading up to November 3, with the most recent five days excluded due to incomplete data.
