The number of new Covid cases in Cornwall continues to fall week-on-week – and is even 15 per cent lower than three days ago.
The latest update from the Government dashboard's cluster map is that there were 1,354 new cases in the seven days leading up to Monday this week (January 18), with the most recent five days not shown due to incomplete data.
This is 15 per cent fewer than Wednesday's midweek update and almost a quarter (24.4 per cent) fewer cases than a week ago. In numerical terms this is 438 fewer cases than were recorded in the seven days leading up to January 11.

Helston has seen a large reduction in cases in the past week. Last Saturday it was the highest recording single cluster in Cornwall, with 92 cases, which rose to 94 on Monday. However, in today's update this number has reduced to 59 cases in the past week. This still makes it the highest single cluster, but not by much.
In Wednesday's update Camborne had one of the highest combined total of cases, at 99 spread across its three cluster areas.
This has now reduced to a combined 76 cases, with Camborne West and Camborne South both dropping to 18 cases (from 26 and 37 last week respectively), but Camborne East has 40 cases, which is a drop of two from Wednesday but a rise of four on a week ago.
Penzance has a combined 105 cases across its three clusters (Penzance South & Newlyn, 14; Penzance North, 40; Penzance Quay, 51). However, this is still a reduction of 14 cases on a week ago.
Covid clusters in the south, west and mid Cornwall
Cases in Falmouth have more than halved in a week, with only 36 recorded in the town over seven days, compared 78 cases a week ago. The clusters areas are broken down into: Falmouth West & South, 9 (down from 27), Falmouth East, 16 (down from 24) and Falmouth North, 11 (down from 27).
There are now three areas of Cornwall that are not showing cases: Padstow & St Issey, Poundstock & Kilkhampton, and Bude & Stratton.
The map only shows clusters when there are at least three confirmed results. Anywhere with between zero and two cases shows white in order to "protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure."
The overall rolling rate of new cases for Cornwall is now 236.8 per 100,000 people - down from 313.0 cases per 100,000 a week ago.
The map shows positive cases by 'Middle Super Output Area' - the name the government gives to the break-up of larger towns and groups of neighbouring towns and villages, with groupings covering a greater area than others.
The minimum population in each area is 5,000 and the average is 7,200.
