Police are appealing for information after a man who was verbally abusive to passersby in Helston town centre this lunchtime was said to go on and assault two police officers.
The man was described as "being aggressive" to people in the street, including a security guard.
Police have since confirmed that there were a number of alleged assaults, as well as an assault on two police officers.
It has prompted an appeal for information by Devon and Cornwall Police.
A spokesperson said: "Police received reports at around 1.20pm this afternoon (Friday, February 5), that a man was being aggressive to members of the public, including a security guard, on Coinagehall Street, Helston, before leaving the area on foot.
"Officers attended and spoke to a number of people."
Enquiries are ongoing, added the spokesperson.
The force spokesperson has since given a further update to add: "Following the incident, a 41-year-old man from Helston has been arrested on suspicion of three counts of assault, and a further count of assaulting two emergency workers, after assaulting two police officers.
"He is in police custody."
