Cornwall's roads can be a paradise for those who wish to explore the county and experience some of the Duchy's breathtaking scenery.

However, driving offences are one of the most common reasons people can find themselves ending up in magistrates' court, and one of the most common offences that end up in court is driving without insurance.

Being found guilty of driving without insurance can land drivers with hefty fines, having points put on their licence or even have them disqualified from driving.

Here are five cases of people who ended up in front of magistrates for driving without third-party insurance.

David Turner, 61, of Chapel Walk Mews in Camborne entered a guilty plea after being caught driving a vehicle on a road without third-party insurance at Carland Cross in Newquay.

Turner was disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for seven days and ordered to pay a £244 fine.
