A list of the most top ten dog friendly places to eat in Cornwall has been revealed according to Trip Advisor and a dog friendly holiday provider.
Canine Cottages says it has crunched the TripAdvisor data to find the most welcoming doggy dining places in the Duchy.
Based on the percentage of reviews on TripAdvisor suggesting a place was 'dog-friendly', the company has compiled a list of pubs and cafes that have been praised by reviewers.
When it came to the top pub, The Treguth Inn in Newquay, 21% of reviews praised its dog-friendliness.
According to the company, data was collected by searching for ‘dog-friendly’ in TripAdvisor, and then analysing the full set of search results by comparing the number of reviews for each place mentioning ‘dog-friendly’ to the total number of reviews.
The resulting top ten places were:
1. The Treguth Inn, Newquay
2. The Yard Street Food Kitchen, Perranporth
3. C-Bay Cafe, Crantock
4. Sea Spray, Newquay
5. The Angry Anchovy, Port Isaac
6. Merrymoor Inn Pub by the Beach, Newquay
7. Scoff Troff Cafe, St Ives
8. The Lock Gates Tea Room, Bude
9. Kings Arms, Bude
10. The Seven Stars Inn, Falmouth
Not listed in the data is Teacup Tearoom in Mevagissey, which won joint bronze in the 'dog friendly business' category of this year's Cornwall Tourism Awards, or the Halzephron Inn near Helston, which won 'best dog friendly pub in the South West' with DogBuddy.com in 2019 - and was named 'Packet Pub of the Year - Dog Friendly' the same year.

Canine Cottages has also released a Dog-Friendly Index tool showing the ten listed even more dog-friendly places as recommended by TripAdvisor reviewers.
Covering the whole of the UK, and featuring filters for finding a specific day out or place to visit, the Dog-Friendly Index gives a 'paw rating' out of five for each place listed - with only places rated three paws or higher apparently featuring in the tool.
Shannon Keary, digital PR manager at Canine Cottages, said: “With so many more people looking to explore what’s on their own doorstep with their dogs this summer, it’s fantastic to see the sheer number and diversity of places that welcome dogs across the country; hopefully this can only continue to grow.
"We hope that our Dog-Friendly Index tool helps to highlight the top spots for dog owners to visit near them, as well as highlight some hidden gems they may not have been aware of.”
