This is the moment one driver in Cornwall is unlikely to want to have to explain to their insurance company.
With the waves rolling in, the SUV appears to be moments from being claimed by the sea.
The picture was taken by St Agnes Coastguard Search & Rescue Team, which was called over concerns for the safety of whoever may have been inside.
The volunteer team was contacted just before 8.30am today (Saturday) and sent to Trevaunance Cove, just under a mile from the centre of St Agnes.
Fortunately, after a quick check of the area it was established that no one was in danger.
A spokesperson said: "Tasked to a report of a car in the sea at Trevaunance Cove. Our attendance was requested to determine the safety of the owner/occupants.
"Once on scene it was quickly established all persons were safe and accounted for.
"Team stood down and returned to station."
Just how the vehicle came to be in this predicament is not exactly clear.
However, another photo that appears to have been taken slightly earlier may give more of an indication.
The SUV can be seen perched precariously over the edge of a wall, which has apparently been misjudged or lay unseen until it was too late, before the power of the sea did its work.
