Fixtures have this week been announced for the 2021/22 season of the South West Peninsula League (SWPL)
Local outfits Falmouth Town and Wendron United will be joined by Penryn Athletic in the division for the first time in the clubs history.
The season will kick off on Friday August 6 at 19:30 when Wendron host Falmouth at Underlane in what promises to be a competitive curtain raiser for a SWPL season that will be hoping to not be null and voided again due to Covid 19.
Penryn meanwhile will travel away to Launceston on August 7 as they look to have a successful start to their campaign.
More local rivalries await in the next game-week as Penryn host Wendron at Kernick Road on Tuesday August 10.
Aside from the league the first round of the Walter C Parson cup draw will see two of the local sides come head to head. This season there will only be six first round fixtures which have been localised to prevent teams from having to travel long distances to play the games.
As a result of this on Wednesday September 8 Falmouth Town will host Penryn Athletic at a kick off time to be confirmed. Both sides will be looking to claim bragging rights in their first contest of the season.
