A senior manager at Cornwall Council has won an award for the way she leads and inspires her team.
Holly Sykes, who is Head of Audit and Electoral Services, was nominated for the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Inspirational Leader of the Year award by her two most senior managers.
Holly was endorsed by David Harris, who was chairman of the Council’s Audit Committee for two years before becoming deputy leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Resources.
Councillor Harris said: "The fact that she was put forward for this award by her two most senior managers says everything.
"Her staff are clearly motivated by her positive attitude and open approach to all matters.
"As chairman of the Audit Committee I met regularly with Holly and different members of her team, and it is clear from the team’s approach that they are genuinely motivated and inspired by their leader.
