IT was a 'Manic Monday' for St Agnes Coastguard Rescue team yesterday when they were called out to four incidents in one day.

The first callout was at 10am to an injured man in the dunes at Perran Sands who had suffered a serious leg fracture.

The team liaised with paramedics, who had just arrived and then helped put the injured man on a stretcher and a carry him to the waiting ambulance, before being stood down.

Then at 1.13pm they were called out to Chapel Rock at Perranporth Beach to help Lifeguards on the beach following a mass rescue, with one person requiring medical attention. The Air Ambulance was also called. However, by the time they got there the incident had been resolved and they returned to base

Then at 3.26pm they were called to Fistral Beach at Newquay to help Newquay Coastguard with a high risk missing person in the Pentire, area of Newquay.

As the team arrived on scene, they were told that police had located the missing person safe and well and we were stood down and returned to base, but not for long.

At 4.51pm they were again called out to help beach lifeguards following another mass rescue.

Once there the team put on water rescue kit and liaised with the lifeguards. Everybody had been recovered from the sea with one receiving treatment from South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

"We were then stood down and returned to base, at which point we managed to have a break and that concluded a busy day!," the team said in a Facebook
