Councillor Carol Mould, Cornwall Council’s Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhoods, said: "I am very proud to be launching our Community Chest small grants scheme for the coming year.
"It is a really good way for the Council to support the voluntary and community groups who do such amazing and varied work in neighbourhoods across Cornwall.
"Last year, Cornwall councillors awarded grants to over 450 community groups and organisations.
"Projects supported by the Community Chest included a range of initiatives to support communities through the pandemic.
"The grants also supported a wide variety of other projects in local neighbourhoods, including improvements to community buildings, sports and recreation initiatives and projects to tackle climate change and protect our environment.
"Applications are welcome from any not for profit group that serves Cornwall. Town and parish councils, village or community hall associations, parent teacher associations, scout and guide groups and many more are eligible for funding.
"Talk to your Cornwall councillor to find out whether they can support your application."
Not for profit groups can apply for Community Chest grants of between £100 and £1,000.
Full guidance on eligibility is available on the Community Chest page on the Cornwall Council website.
Applications can be made any time up until the closing date of 18 February 2022.
Crowdfunding can be a good way to help projects attract wider support and increase the funds they receive.
If you are interested in this, please speak to your local councillor.
You can also visit the Crowdfunder Cornwall website for further details of the funds available and how the process works.
