Climbers who set out without safety equipment had to be rescued from a cliff face when they became stuck.
The Mullion Coastguard team were paged at 12.26pm on Sunday, initially to investigate a report that two adults and two children were potentially stranded on a cliff face near Housel Bay, The Lizard.
After making contact with the first informant, the rescue team then saw that the casualties appeared to be climbers.
A coastguard team spokesperson said: "Once on scene, cliff top edge safety equipment was set up, and a rope rescue technician was lowered down the cliff, to ascertain whether the group of climbers were in any trouble, as they were climbing without anchored safety ropes or safety harnesses.
"When all casualties were back on top of the cliff, ‘safety advice’ was given, and the team was stood down and returned to station."
