A popular Cornish beach café in west Cornwall is hosting an evening of live music and food in late September.
‘The Best of Fish & Folk’ music and supper evening will include live acoustic performances by multi-award winning singer-songwriter Steve Knightley and menu crafted by Head Chef of The Rockpool Beach Cafe, Ryan Venning on Saturday September 25.
Steve Knightley, founder member of folk/acoustic ‘Show of Hands’ and described by Peter Gabriel as ‘one of the great English bands’, will be providing an up-close gig to no more than 80 people in the newly refurbished private function room at The Rockpool Beach Cafe, Gwithian.
Knightley was awarded ‘Best Song’ at the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and will be performing throughout the evening.
Originally from South Africa, armed with impressive foodie credentials, Head Chef of The Rockpool, Ryan Venning, has around two decades’ cheffing experience in Cornwall, having covered the popular beaches around St Ives including ten years at the popular Porthminster Beach Cafe.

On speaking about the upcoming event, Knightley said: "I was delighted to be asked by Ryan to join him in presenting this unique evening of maritime themed music and food.

The Rockpool Beach Cafe lies nestled between the dunes of Gwithian and Godrevy, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the far end of St Ives Bay.
