A new pub post office is to be made permanent near Falmouth after a successful trial period.

The new service operates from The Trelowarren Arms, Budock Water, Falmouth on Thursdays from 10am to 12 noon.

It is being run by the postmaster from Rame Cross Post and offers a range of products and services.

Matt Walls, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: "We are delighted to have introduced this brand-new hosted outreach service in Budock Water.

"We thank the Postmaster for Rame for providing this service."

Cornwall Councillor David Saunby, who was instrumental in bringing the post office back to Budock Water, said: "It has been a big hit with residents of the parish of Budock, and it looks to have passed the trial period with flying colours, and is set to continue on Thursday mornings for the foreseeable future.

An average of 40 customers per morning came through the doors during the first four weeks.
