A WOMAN who failed to comply with a community order given for assaulting two female police officers and damaging vehicles has been sent to prison for 12 weeks.

Sorcha Reeves, aged 18, Melroy Terrace, Westend, Blackwater, Truro, was originally convicted for the assaults back in June and was given a community order at Cornwall Magistrates' Court.

However she was back in court again on September 8 charged with failing to comply with the requirements of a community order.

The court heard that in July she failed to attend appointments and allowed her GPS tag battery to become depleted. She then failed to comply with an exclusion order by entering an exclusion zone.

Magistrates revoked the original community order made on July 6 which was given after Reeves was convicted of assaulting two police officers in June this year and damaging up to eight vehicles.

There was no separate penalty for an assault on PC Christie Bagguley on the same date.
