Asda has been crowned the UK’s Lowest Priced supermarket at awards held by retail industry magazine, The Grocer.
The supermarket chain also took away award for the best Online Supermarket. This is the second time Asda has won this award and the 24th time it has won Lowest Priced Supermarket.
Throughout the pandemic Asda accelerated online growth to more than double the amount of home delivery slots available. This alongside a delivery partnership with Uber Eats helped Asda expand its online presence.

Derek Lawlor, Chief Merchandising Officer at Asda, said: “We continue to offer our customers the best possible value across our own brand and branded ranges, helping them save money across what has been a challenging year for many.”
Simon Gregg, Vice President of Online Grocery at Asda, said: “Our online operation has been key in responding to the changing needs of our customers and deserves the recognition it has achieved in winning this award. The team are constantly innovating to offer increased flexibility and convenience, be it through rapid delivery services or the tools available online to make life easier for shoppers.”
To further help the communities it serves, Asda recently announced it will become the first supermarket to deliver Covid booster vaccinations to help customers access these at 72 of its in-store pharmacies from the beginning of next month.
Morrisons and Tesco also took home accolades, winning Grocer of the Year and Britain’s Favourite Supermarket retrospectively.
