Round Two of the Walter C Parson Cup takes centre stage this weekend instead of the usual South West Peninsula League (SWPL) fixtures.
Falmouth Town will make the journey across the border to Sidmouth Town who play in the SWPL East division. Sidmouth are bottom of the league and winless so far this season but picked up their first point of the season in a 0-0 draw against Axminster Town in midweek. In stark contrast Falmouth Town are enjoying their best ever start to a league campaign and boast a fantastic record of winning every game they have played in so far this season.
Wendron United are at home to SWPL East side Bovey Tracey. The Dron are winless in two and will be hoping that they can perform as well as they did in their last cup match at Underlane which saw them beat Bishops Sutton 2-1 in the FA Vase. Bovey Tracey are steadily progressing in their league, taking 14 points from their opening ten matches of the season (W 4, D2, L4).
There is no match for Penryn Athletic this weekend, they have to wait until Wednesday October 20 for their next game which will be a league encounter away to Godolphin Atlantic.
Helston Athletic have another top of the table clash in the Toolstation Western League. After drawing 0-0 to Tavistock in their last game Athletic travel to Bitton, who defeated Helston 2-4 at Kellaway Park earlier in the season. Bitton are currently joint top of the league with Tavistock with 29 points from their opening 14 matches of the season. Helston trail them by six points but crucially have two games in hand on their title rivals.
On Sunday October 17, in the South West Regional Women's Football League Helston Athletic Women travel away to Saltash United. They drew 3-3 in their last game at Liverton and have five points from their four matches so far this season (W1, D2, L1).
In the Cornwall Women's Football League (CWFL) Division One Helston Athletic Women's Development squad are also on their travels, the team play away to Sticker. Helston are currently third in the table and trail their opponents by three points but they do have a game in hand. There is no scheduled game for Penryn Ladies until October 31.
There is no game for Wendron United Ladies in Division Two of the CWFL this weekend.
