A PROPOSAL to build a small café within the curtilage of a gym on Falmouth Business Park has been given approval by Cornwall Council’s planning department.
The café will be built behind the gym in a wooded area bounded by Mongleath Road and Bickland Water Road, opposite St Francis School.
The “rustic” building will serve customers from the gym as well as the other businesses on the park. It will have 22 covers inside as well as a seating area outside.
The developer says the works would be of a minor nature, in keeping with the area and would have no harmful impact on the site.
The spacious nature of the plot, proximity to the main road and distance from other properties, especially dwellings, means there are no concerns regarding noise from the increased footfall and plant machinery.

The applicants planning proposal states: "The proposals would improve the facilities offered to business on the site and encourage the use of the service building on the site, such as the gym.
