The daily Covid case rate in Cornwall has fallen back again after yesterday's big rise but still remains on an upward curve.

Today's daily Covid-19 case figures in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly show 370 new people tested positive for the virus in the previous 24 hours, a decrease on yesterday's figure of 428 but a rise on Saturday's figure of 351.

The weekly total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result (either lab-reported or lateral flow device) is on a five-day delay. The latest data shows a combined 2,447 people testing positive in the seven days leading up to last Wednesday, November 17, a rise on yesterday's 2,316 weekly total.

The weekly case rate average has also risen to 425.2 cases per 100,000, up from a 402.4 average yesterday. For this figure the government uses the mid-2020 estimates for the permanent population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The overall total of cases in Cornwall since the start of the pandemic is now 64,104.

The daily number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK shows 44,917 new cases, up from 40,004 cases yesterday.

This takes the total of cases since the start of the pandemic to 9,889,926.

In the most recent update, the combined number of Covid-19 related deaths in total in the Duchy’s hospitals since the start of the pandemic stands at 335.

The total number recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust since the start of the pandemic stood at 270, with two new deaths reported in Friday's figures.

At the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust the figure remains at 65.

The government’s update, which continues to be updated daily, showing the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – stands at 595 deaths in the 28 days since a positive Covid case.

The total number of deaths in Cornwall simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate stayed at 672 in the most recent data available this week. It shows that eight new deaths occurred in the week leading up to Friday, November 5, the most recent date given.

The overall UK figures show 45 more people having died within 28 days of their first positive test result today, down from 61 yesterday.

Total UK deaths within 28 days since the start of the pandemic stand at 143,972. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

Up to Sunday, November 21, 50,777,474 people in the UK have had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 46,168,300 have had their second dose. A total of 15,331,311 have had their booster jab or third dose.

In Cornwall 451,155 have had their first jab while 419,810 have had their second.
