A FLAT in Helston that has previously been used as social housing is being up for sale – and local people are being given the chance to buy it first before it goes on the open market.
The property in Wendron Street is being sold as part of Coastline Housing's disposal programme.
The two bedroom first-floor flat at 23 Wendron Street in Helston is being marketed with a guide price of £135,000.
However, people with a local connection only have just over two weeks to express an interest and make an offer being it is opened up to the winder population.
Sharing the news with residents, Helston Town Council said in a Facebook post: "They would like to give people with a connection to the parish the first opportunity to purchase the property, before it is placed on the open market on December 15, 2021.
"All proceeds of the sale will be reinvested back into affordable housing."
The council said that anyone interested in buying the property should contact the Mather Partnership on 01326 565016 or email sales@thematherpartnership.co.uk
