Falmouth and Penryn Amateur Boxing Club (ABC) wave goodbye to another successful year of boxing that saw the club travel throughout the region competing in tough contests and was highlighted by senior boxer Kaidan Symons bringing the coveted Riviera Boxcup trophy back to Falmouth and Penryn.
To celebrate the hard work put in throughout the year from the junior boxers, the club organised an open evening on Tuesday, December 14 where parents could come along and watch their children be put through their paces by the coaches at the club.
The evening consisted of circuit training where the juniors demonstrated their fitness and rounds of sparring where the young boxers had the opportunity to showcase their improvements and skills inside the boxing ring.
Over 20 young boxers under the age of 18 attended the session at the club’s premises behind the Praze in Penryn, a solid turnout indicating that the future looks bright for Falmouth and Penryn ABC.
Coaches Chris Martin, Gilbert Ambrose, Danny Cole, Wayne Salmon, and Dave Morris would like to thank all boxers who have been a part of the club through the testing year and say a massive thank you to The Famous Barrel in Penryn who have kindly donated £790 to the boxing club.
The money is greatly appreciated, and will be spent on new equipment for the club and ensuring transport fees are covered so that the club can continue competing and winning trophies next year.
