A woman from Redruth has recently achieved the most prestigious level of professional achievement in the world of financial planning; a Fellowship with the Personal Finance Society.
Jessica Chantler, 32, from Redruth had been working in financial services for 14 years, choosing to stay in Cornwall and study while working rather than go to university.
She started working in an financial adviser's office as an admin assistant in 2012 and has since worked her way up through the ranks.
Jessica put herself through 18 exams in total at a time there were no classes, online resources or additional support; just herself and a textbook.
She was awarded the fellowship on December 13 2021.
Jessica said: "In order to be a Financial Adviser, you need to complete a level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning qualification (100 exam credits) with the Personal Finance Society which I did at age 25, however, I knew I wanted to go on and achieve chartered status, a sign of quality and higher learning within the industry, which I have now done.

"Those aiming for this prestigious award tend to be well into their careers, typically in their 40s or 50s, which makes me completing this at age 32 even more rare!

"With 350 exam credits required to complete the fellowship, 290 of which much be obtained through the completion of the Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, it’s not a small task to undertake.
