2021 has had no shortage of news and Cornwall is no exception.
With 2022 just around the corner, we thought we would take a look back at some of our biggest stories of the year.
From an incident at McDonalds to climbing Covid cases, there is not much that we haven't seen in 2021.
As we reflect on our most popular headlines of the year, we would like to wish you a very happy new year.

10. One new Covid cluster returns to case map of Cornwall
After a week of showing no Covid areas across the whole of Cornwall one new cluster has returned to the map.
Clusters are only shown on the government's dashboard map when there are three or more new cases reported at any one time.
Anywhere with between zero and two cases shows white in order to "protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure", the accompanying information states.
9. 'Heavy snow' to hit Cornwall: hourly forecast
'Heavy snow showers' are being forecast across Cornwall.
Snow was forecast to fall from last night (Monday), and some areas have reportedly woken up to a light dusting, including in the Wendron area and Madron in west Cornwall.

8. 'Incident' at Cornwall McDonald's in Falmouth: police tape and cones
McDonald's has confirmed that an "incident" took place at its Falmouth restaurant last night and it is working with police.
The entire site was closed this morning (Saturday) with police tape blocking the restaurant entrance.
Entry to the car park was shut off by a row of cones, and a staff member in a high vis jacket could be seen standing outside preventing people from entering.
7. Over half of Cornwall sees Covid cases rises week-on-week on cluster map
More than half of Cornwall has seen cases rise week-on-week - and one area recorded a particular surge.
It's after the number of clusters seeing an increase of cases on the previous week rose from eight a week ago to 40 in the most recent update - well over half of the 72 clusters that make up the Duchy.
And Pool & Illogan Highway has surged into the top spot for the single cluster with the highest weekly cases, recording 86 - up 54 on the previous week, from 32 last Saturday.
6. The 15 clusters with Covid case rises in Cornwall on map
A further drop in the rate of new cases appearing in Cornwall has seen the map turn blue again.
Cornwall now has a rate of 389.2 cases per 100,000 people, compared to 544.2 cases per 100,000 people last Wednesday.
This brings it back down a level on the government's dashboard map, after falling below the 400-case threshold.
5. Areas of Cornwall with Covid case rises on cluster map
Just four areas of Cornwall are not showing as a Covid cluster with every other part recording at least three weekly cases - and some seeing more than ten times that.
In today's government update 68 out of a potential 72 cluster areas are now showing on the dashboard map as a case cluster.
These are places that recorded three or more cases in the seven days leading up to Monday this week, June 28. Data for the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.
4. Covid cases in Cornwall rise nearly a thousand in week: cluster map
One town in Cornwall has risen to the highest possible rate of new Covid cases, with many others seeing huge spikes.
Both parts of Newquay have a case rise average rate of more than 1,000 cases per 100,000 people, putting it in the top alert category.
Elsewhere in Cornwall both Helston and the Lizard Peninsula have seen large cases rises, as have Penryn and Launceston.
3. Places in Cornwall that now have Covid as clusters quadruple
A 273% increase in new cases of Covid in Cornwall has seen the amount of clusters quadruple since Wednesday.
There are now eight clusters on the government's dashboard map, compared to none a week ago, and only two in the midweek update.
It should be noted that cases remain relatively low, and that small changes are enough to put areas back on the map of clusters.
2. Cornwall has highest rate of new Covid cases in country
Cornwall is showing the highest rate of new Covid cases out of anywhere in the country.
Tuesday’s update of Covid-19 case rates for every local authority area in England shows that Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly have the highest rate nationally, with 4,430 new cases in the seven days leading up to August 20 – the equivalent of 769.7 cases per 100,000 people.
This is up sharply from 384.0 cases per 100,000 in the seven days to August 13, when only half the weekly cases were recorded - total of 2,210.
1. Where new Covid case clusters are in Cornwall
Only 13 out of 72 areas of Cornwall remain clear on the government's map of case clusters.
A further rise in cases means that clusters have risen from 43 last Saturday and 56 on Wednesday to 59 in the most recent update.
Clusters are shown when there are three or more new cases reported at any one time.
