A selection of Falmouth Town legends from the sides triple winning 1996/97 season are set to return to Bickland Park on Saturday.
Falmouth Town are playing at home to St Blazey in the South West Peninsula League (SWPL) West on the day as they look to maintain their winning league run.
All bar one of Dave Ball and Keith Barker's triple winning team are heading to the Town where they will be in the clubhouse before the match. Once the ninety minutes has come to an end they will return to the clubhouse where they will be formally presented on stage to the fans.
The 1996/97 side are regarded as one of the most famous outfits in Falmouth's history with the team winning 35 of their 45 games that season, drawing twice and losing on just eight occasions, two of which were cup matches.
In the process, Town notched 137 goals which is an average of three per game, conceding just 43. Certainly giving the fans a lot to shout about, and many happy memories.
The current side, managed by Andrew Westgarth are doing their very best to emulate the form of the historic predecessors and are comfortably top of the SWPL West.
They have won all 20 of their league games this campaign, breaking a club and league record for winning runs in that time.
Moreover, they have enjoyed cup success and find themselves in the semi-final of the Cornwall Senior Cup where they will play Dobwalls at Bodieve Park, Wadebridge on Tuesday, March 15.
