The latest daily Covid-19 case figures in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly for today indicate 434 new people testing positive, down very slightly on yesterday's figure of 438.
The weekly total number of people with at least one positive Covid-19 test result (either lab-reported or lateral flow device) is on a five-day delay.
The latest data shows a combined 4,443 people testing positive in the seven days leading up to last Tuesday, February 8, down on yesterday's total of 4,621.
The weekly case rate average has dropped to 772 cases per 100,000 people, down from yesterday's figure of 802.9.
For this figure, the government uses the mid-2020 estimates for the permanent population of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The overall total of cases in Cornwall since the start of the pandemic now stands at 116,696.
The daily number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK is 41,270 new cases, down on yesterday's figure of 46,025 cases. This takes the total of cases since the start of the pandemic to 18,306,859.
When it comes to recent hospital admissions in Cornwall up to Tuesday, February 8– the most recent data given by the government updated weekly - there were 47 patients with the virus in Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust hospitals and 12 patients in Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust hospitals. No patients were in a ventilation bed.
National healthcare update shows a total of 12,753 patients with the virus in UK hospitals as of Thursday, February 10, the most recent data, with 430 in ventilation beds.
The combined number of Covid-19 related deaths in total in the Duchy’s hospitals since the start of the pandemic stands at 370.
The total number recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust since the start of the pandemic stands at 303 with a further death reported on February 6. At the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust the figure remained at 67.
The government’s update shows the overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – has fallen to 679 deaths in the 28 days since a positive Covid case, after 680 were reported yesterday. It is not known the reason for the fall of one.
The total number of deaths in Cornwall simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate is updated weekly and sits at 765 from data available this week. It shows that ten new deaths occurred in the week ending Friday, January 28.
The overall UK figures show 52 more people having died within 28 days of their first positive test result.
Total UK deaths since the start of the pandemic now stands at 159,570.
Up to Saturday, February 12, a total of 52,492,276 people in the UK had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 48,719,951 had their second dose. A total of 37,729,821 have had their booster jab or third dose.
In Cornwall, up to Friday, February 11 462,349 had their first jab while 437,254 had their second and 361,824 are reported to have had their third dose or booster.
