The public are being warned of the possibility of electrocution after the roof of Sennen Cove Lifeboat Centre was torn off late this morning.
It landed in the road but is live and is resting both on powerlines and close to metal fencing.
At 11.20 this morning (Friday) Cornwall Council issued an urgent message via its social media accounts.
It said: "Please stay away from the Sennen Cove Lifeboat Centre, as the roof has been blown off and is in the road.
"The roof still has power and is LIVE with metal railings nearby, leading to a risk of electrocution."
Devon and Cornwall Police are urging the public to stay away from the village.
A spokesperson said: "Officers are currently at Sennen Cove, Penzance where the roof of the lifeboat station has come off and is resting on power cables.
"Due to safety reasons, please do not attend the area whilst Western Power work with us to make the area safe.
