Police in Cornwall have appealed to the public for information regarding an altercation that took place in Perranarworthal this week.

The incident involved a male driver of a red Volkswagen Caddy Van and a male driver of a blue Renault Clio.

The altercation took place at around 7:40am on Wednesday, February 2 on a road just off the A39 at Perranarworthal, near the pub with the driver of the van reportedly threatening the other driver with a hammer.

Police are particularly interested in talking to a female driver of a dark-coloured Golf and another male in a blue Peugeot 407.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information in connection with a report of an altercation that took place between a male driver of a red Volkswagen Caddy Van with silver alloy wheels and a male driver of a blue Renault Clio at approximately 7.40am on Wednesday 2 February 2022 on a stretch of road just off the A39, Perranarworthal near the pub.

"It has been reported that the male driver of the van, described as white, of slim build with ginger hair, was in possession of a hammer and made threats towards the driver of the Renault Clio.

"We believe that there may be witnesses to this incident, they are believed to be a female in a dark coloured Golf and a male in a blue Peugeot 407.

"We ask for anyone with information, or anyone who may of witnessed this incident or with dashcam footage to please make contact by emailing 101@dc.police.uk or phone 101 quoting crime CR/09772/22.
