West Country folk star Seth Lakeman is returning to St Ives for the 2022 September Festival.
Seth will appear at St Ia Church in a solo show on Sunday, September 11 – four years after his last St Ives appearance when he and his band delivered a performance that sold out The Guildhall on the opening night of the 2018 Festival.
Following that show, Seth dashed home to Devon to collect his bag and catch a flight to rejoin Robert Plant’s USA tour in Kansas City the following Tuesday.
St Ia music events organiser, Jo Grant, said: "I'm so excited to have Seth coming to church.
"He's by far the biggest name the church has booked for any September Festival and I'm so proud I asked and he accepted!
"Seth's a wizard on the fiddle and guitar and, with his lilting voice and the wonderful acoustics, we're in for a real treat!”

Seth will be followed to St Ia on Sunday, September 18, by his friend Winter Mountain – aka Cornwall-born Joe Francis – who has toured with him on numerous occasions.
Singer-songwriter Joe, who has released two critically-acclaimed albums and toured the world, was a big hit at the Church during last year’s September Festival and this year he will be bringing his band as well.
As well as touring with Seth Lakeman, he has enjoyed support slots for other major artists including Seal, Paolo Nutini, The Waterboys, Gomez, Richard Thompson and Cara Dillon.
Cornish singer Will Keating and banjo player John Dowling will also be back at the Church on Thursday, September 15, following last year’s Festival and their recent Candlelit Concert Tour appearance there and shanty group, Bryher’s Boys, return the following night after attracting a large audience to their 2021 Festival show.
